I finally was able to watch the Watchmen today, wow. I read the entire graphic novel a few months ago and absolutley loved it. The movie did it more than proper justice, actually improving on a few certain things over the book. My only gripe was the terrible song playing during one of the love scenes. Other than that, it was 3 hours of awesomeness in my book. The characters were spot-on, with an exceptional casting and performance of Rorschark, my favorite character. The opening scene was also better than the book in my opinion, the speed and motion of the fight was exciting and added depth to Edward Blake's character.

As for what this movie meant to me personally, I saw many of my own personal issues reflected in the movie's characters. For example, I am always looking for truth about reality, time, and the manifestation of intentions. The deeper I go into this stuff, the more distance I feel from the people in my life. Such ideas as time isn't real, subjective reality and manifestation are difficult to bring up with the people around me because none of them feel comfortable talking about this kind of thing, and I can really feel the discomfort such topics bring them.

This was mirrored by Dr. Manhattan's conversations with Silk Spectre II in the Watchmen. If you read the book or watch the movie, you'll see what I mean. I can really relate to his detachment and loneliness.

Whenever I read a comic book or watch a movie, I always look at the story as symbolic of the writer/director/artist's own personal inner struggles. In this way I feel I can look deeply into another creator's inner being. This perspective adds a whole new level of enjoyment and meaning to the whole experience. I also noticed that this makes my mind very active while watching movies or reading comic books, as opposed to passively observing the content and only taking it in at face value.

I adopted this approach when I started work on my own comic book, which is still very much a work in progress.

things are changing. more positive is the flow of manifestation, and its faster and more direct. An old project thats been rattling around and lying dormant in my mind is beginning to manifest. The more I work towards its actualization, the more help I receive from unexpected sources at just the right moment. Other projects are coming to life, not only my own, but those of my friends. The latter are mostly things that I helped to water the seed early on, and I am now watching my fellow gardeners enjoy watching their creations grow into the physical realm.
